Read Together Diamond Bar

Read Together Diamond Bar (RTDB) is an innovative program to unite people of all ages and backgrounds and encourage reading at the same time. For the month of October, the Diamond Bar Friends of the Library is inviting everyone in Diamond Bar to join together to read Lion by Saroo Brierley.  Lion is a miraculous and triumphant story of a boy’s incredible journey from India to Australia and back again.

This annual RTDB brings people together to discuss the themes and ideas of a book with various activities throughout the month of October.

We want every age to participate so Wall by Tom Clohosy Cole is chosen for the children to read.  For teens and young adults, we have Far From The Tree by Robin Benway. Far From The Tree is the story of three teenagers, biological siblings separated by adoption, explore the meaning of family in all its forms—how to find it, how to keep it, and how to love it. Author Robin Benway is scheduled to speak at our closing event of RTDB 2018 on Saturday, October 27. All these books are available at the library.

Below are listed just a few of the exciting programs being planned for October.

  • 10/6 – Bollywood Dance Workshop
  • 10/10 – How to Build a Story Workshop
  • 10/13 – Restoring Contact with Family
  • 10/16 – Super Hero Masks
