Amateur Radio Technician Course
Learn the basics of amateur radio that will give you skills to become a valuable asset to your community during a disaster. This free, five week course will teach you the skills necessary to obtain a Federal Communication Commission (FCC) Technician Level license and legally operate an amateur radio per FCC regulations.
Must provide your own copy of “ARRL Ham Radio License Manual” 3rd Edition, which is approximately $30 and can be purchased online or at a bookstore. Classes will be held at Central Park in Rancho Cucamonga.
Course Dates are held from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on:

- Thursday, February 1, 2018
- Thursday, February 8, 2018
FCC Test date to test for the Technician license, upgrade from Technician to General or General to Amateur Extra, will be on Thursday, February 15th from 6:30pm-9pm. Material fee of $15 is paid to the instructor at class.
This training is provided with support from the Auxiliary Communications Service (ACS), an emergency communications volunteer program of the Rancho Cucamonga Fire District.
