Pruning Fruit Trees Class
Learn the art of pruning in this hands-on, how-to learning experience. This class will cover the basics of pruning, from why we prune to how to successfully begin to prune. Leave with the knowledge you need to begin pruning at home.
The class will be held on Saturday, January 6, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Class will be held at Centennial Farm, Silo Building, located at 88 Fair Dr, Costa Mesa, in the OC Fair and Event Center.
Classes are intended for participants 16 years and older unless otherwise noted. (Centennial Farm is open to the public, but we ask that you do not leave your children unattended on the farm.)
Class fee is $5.00 to cover the cost of materials. Bring your snippers and use their tool sharpening services.

About the speaker: Isabel Barkman has been a UCCE Master Gardener since 1999 and volunteers at the South Coast Research and Extension Center in Irvine working with various fruit tree orchards. A member of California Rare Fruit Growers since 1991, she has served as a group representative and expert for answering questions from the public at numerous plant and gardening events. Isabel also conducts grafting and pruning demonstrations for Master Gardeners and CRFG classes.
