Orange County Wind Symphony Concert
The Orange County Wind Symphony (OCWS) will present their Second concert of its 2017-18 season on Sunday, March 25, 2018, starting at 6:00 p.m., at the Anaheim Performing Arts Center at Servite H.S., 1952 La Palma, in Anaheim.
The Orange County Wind Symphony will present a concert featuring compositions that truly evoke the concept of “Symphonic Sounds” as heard in concert halls today. The concert opens with the Festive Overture by Dmitri Shostakovich. The rarely heard Scherzo from Symphony No. 1 of Robert Jager will follow. The Hindemith Symphony for Band will round out the first half of the concert. The remainder of the concert will feature music by Leonard Bernstein. The Overture and Suite from “Candide”, set for band by Clare Grundman will conclude our concert.
The Orange County Wind Symphony is a regional semi-professional Wind Ensemble serving a metropolitan area of approximately 3 million people. The OCWS is honored to be part of the Anaheim community and in July 2011 was designated, along with the OCS as the Resident Wind Symphony for the City of Anaheim. The Wind Symphony is led by Dr. Anthony Mazzaferro, an accomplished Wind Band & Orchestral conductor, who currently serves on the faculties of the music departments of Fullerton College, Irvine Valley College, and the Orange County School for the Arts.
Tickets are $20.00 for General admission and $15.00 for Seniors and Students. Tickets may be purchased online here.
