Backyard Composting

This class, on November 4, 2017,  provides an introduction to composting. Residents will get an overview of the composting process, how different methods of composting work, and the benefits of each. Residents learn what materials can be used for backyard composting so that it is successful and productive.

After the class, the Department makes low cost compost bins available to Riverside County residents. Information is also provided on how a resident can build their own compost bin.

Geobin Compost Bins $12.00

  • Available for purchase after the compost class. Compost bins are also available at the RCDWR Administration Office, Monday through Thursday, 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.
  • Accepted forms of payment: Cash, Checks, and Visa or MasterCard debit/credit cards (75¢ processing fee applies).
  • Bins available for purchase by Riverside County residents only.
  • Limit of up to three compost bins per household.
  • Subject to availability.
