Diwali, Festival of Lights
Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, is the most widely celebrated Indian festival. Diwali signifies the victory of good over evil and is celebrated by all Indians, not just Hindus. For five days, children and adults come together in their finest clothing and joyously celebrate this occasion.
Annakut is a Celebration of Food. It literally means “mountain of food” and is offered to the God. An array of vegetarian foods is traditionally arranged in tiers or steps in front of the God with sweets nearest the top.
The BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, located at 15100 Fairfield Ranch Rd., in Chino Hills, invites you and your family to celebrate these two events, Diwali and Annakut starting Wednesday, October 18 thru Saturday, October 21. For times, see the flyer.
