Read Together Diamond Bar

Read Together Diamond Bar is an innovative program to unite people of all ages and backgrounds and encourage reading at the same time.  For the month of October the Diamond Bar Friends of the Library is inviting everyone in Diamond Bar to join together to read Rise of the Rocket Girls by Nathalia Holt.Diamond Bar Events Read Together

This annual RTDB brings people together to discuss the themes and ideas of a book with various activities hjbvghbhbhvbgghbhbthroughout the month of October.  According to Popular Science magazine, “This is the untold story of the women behind the space race.  Holt introduces us to the sisterhood of talented women who helped launch the Jet Propulsion Laboratory to fame.  At a time when women’s roles were mostly limited to housework, the girls at JPL calculated how much fuel the rockets would need to explore the solar system.”

We want every age to participate so The Moon over Star by Dianna Hutts Aston is chosen for the children to read.  For teens and young adults we have Finding Wonders:  Three Girls Who Changed Science by Jeannine Atkins.  All these books are available at the library.

A few of the exciting programs include Rockets and Robots in Space with Captain Bob Redman and is it Magic, or is it Science?  There will also be many more interesting programs along with book discussions and films throughout the month.  Look for more information in the coming month.

WestCoast Magazine is always striving to bring you local events in Diamond Bar. If you have an event you would like to put up on our website, please email with details of the event, more information or questions.
