Relay For Life
The American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life is a 24-hour team event that raises money, awareness, and hope in the struggle against the disease.
Join us at these events to bring communities together to remember loved ones lost, honor survivors of all cancers, and raise money to help the American Cancer Society make a global impact on cancer.
On June 10-11, 2017, at Suzanne Middle School, located at 525 Suanne Rd, in Walnut, Relay for Life of the Walnut Valley will start with the Opening Ceremony at 9:00 a.m. followed by the Survivors Lap and Caregivers Lap.
The Survivors Lap honors survivors and their strength, with each step they take around the first lap.
Caring for others is such a selfless act, which is why we honor caregivers with a lap. They often walk with the person they’ve supported.
In the evening will be the Luminaria ceremony. A time to remember those loved ones lost to cancer.
For the rest of Saturday evening, marchers continue to do laps, in honor of survivors, family members, friends, those who are gone.
Sunday, June 11, 2017, at 9:00 a.m., the Closing ceremony celebrates what has been accomplished and to remember those who have been lost. Ceremonies like this will be held all over the country, proving we are not alone in the struggle against cancer but together we can beat it.
