Composting and Gardening Workshop
Sign Up to Participate in a Composting and Gardening Workshop. If you are interested in learning how to turn your yard and kitchen waste into rich soil amendment or how to eliminate grass from your home’s outdoors without sacriﬁcing curb appeal, then you may be interested in attending one of four free workshops the City is oﬀering this summer.
The workshops will be held at the Diamond Bar Center, located at 1600 Grand Avenue, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on the following Saturdays: June 24, July 8, July 22 and August 12. The June 24 and July 22 presentations will cover advanced topics while the July 8 and August 12 sessions will cover basic techniques, ideal for individuals new to composting.
Among the topics that will be covered in these workshops are traditional and worm composting methods; native plant selection, planting and care; as well as outdoor water saving tips and techniques. Also, following each of the workshops, attendees will have the option to purchase a regular composting bin or a worm composter at a reduced price of $45.00 or $65.00, respectively. Payment is by check or cash only (exact change required).
