Vermicomposting & Make Your Own Worm Bin Class

The Riverside County Dept of Waste Resources invite residents to a Vermicomposting workshop, on October 6, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Corona Public Library, located at 650 South Main Street, in Corona

This class teaches residents about a composting method where worms convert food scraps into two of the best amendments on earth: worm castings, a fancy name for worm poop; and worm tea, a liquid fertilizer derived from either castings or the leachate collected from a worm bin.  Residents learn how to care for the worms, make bedding, and harvest a worm bin.

Following the Vermicomposting class, there is a hands-on Make Your Own Worm Bin workshop where attendees make their own worm bins to take home.  Participants are taught how to harvest worms and receive enough worms to start their bin.  Supplies are required, or a kit can be purchased at the class for $26.

Visit www.rcwaste.org/vermicomposting for the supply list.
