Chino Valley Historical Society Barnraising Fundraiser
The Chino Valley Historical Society invites you to a painting party on Wednesday, July 19, starting at 5:30 p.m. The proceeds will help raise funds for a barnraising to house historic farm equipment and serve as a centerpiece for Chino’s rich agricultural history.
The painting party will be held at the Old Schoolhouse Museum, located at 5493 B Street (corner of 11th & B Street) in Chino.
Tickets are $45 per person and will be available starting June 1, and can be purchased at the Neighborhood Activity Center (NAC), located at 5201 D St., in Chino. Tickets can also be purchased at the Old Schoolhouse Museum, on Wednesdays and Thursdays, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and the second Saturday of the month from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Seating is limited so get your tickets early! Price includes wine and hearty appetizers.
Situated on the corner of 11th and B Streets, the Old Schoolhouse Museum was the first school house built in 1888 and was originally located on the corner of 5th and D Streets. In 1894 it was closed. In 1898, the building was relocated behind the Brick School (Community Building), which faced 10th Street. In 1914, the building was relocated to its present location. In 1982, the Chino Valley Historical Society opened the museum. In 2013, the building was presented to the City and it reopened the Old Schoolhouse Museum in 2016.
