Your Backyard Nature Sanctuary
Songbirds, pollinators, hummingbirds, and butterflies – Oh My! Learn how you can use your backyard and plant choices to provide habitat to fascinating and beautiful critters who need good homes in our neighborhoods. Come to the Waterwise Community Center (4594 San Bernardino St, Montclair) on Saturday, October 26th, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for this gardening workshop.
Covering principles of natural gardening, attendees will learn the secrets of attracting birds and native pollinators into their garden through:
- A discussion of our favorite native and plants that support habitat
- Using and building other habitat-providing garden elements such as bird baths, water features, dry stream beds, and other projects
- Garden design and placement of those plants and features
- Identifying top birds and pollinators who are likely to show up when you put what you learn into action
