National Night Out
National Night Out, on Tuesday, August 1, 2017, is an event held in local neighborhoods throughout the nation to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, to strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships, and send criminals a message letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
How can you participate? It’s easy. Get with your neighbors, organize an activity, and spend the evening outdoors. Last year, twenty-three neighborhoods, over 1000 residents, participated by gathering with their neighbors at barbecues, potlucks, or dessert socials in their neighborhoods.
Be sure to register your event online at www.chinohills.org/nationalnightout by July 14th and receive a neighborhood organizing kit (While supplies last). City Council members, Deputies, the Chino Valley Fire District, Citizens on Patrol, and even McGruff, the crime fighting dog, will visit as many registered events as possible.
