City Council Elections Nomination Period Open
The nomination period for offices participating in the November 6, 2018 General Municipal Election are now open. The nomination period ends at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, August 10, and may be extended to Wednesday, August 15, for contests in which an eligible incumbent officeholder does not file.
The General Municipal Election will fill the following three seats on the Chino Hills City Council:
• City Council Member representing District 1 for a full term of four years.
• City Council Member representing District 2 for a full term of four years. • City Council Member representing District 4 for a full term of four years.
To be eligible to hold office as a City Council Member, a person must be at least 18 years old and a registered voter residing within the boundaries of the district they seek to represent at the time the nomination papers are issued. Residents may visit www.chinohills.org/FindYourDistrict and enter their address to identify the district in which they reside.
All forms required for nomination and election to the City Council in the City of Chino Hills are furnished by, and filed with the City Clerk. Persons considering filing to become a candidate are encouraged to make an appointment with the City Clerk to obtain the nomination papers, review the filing requirements, and ask questions about the process.
Appointments can be in person by visiting the City Clerk’s office, located at the City’s Government Center, 14000 City Center Drive in Chino Hills or by calling (909) 364-2624. The office hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Friday.
