Corona Public Library’s Summer Reading Program
From the beach or your backyard, reading with the Corona Public Library’s Summer Reading Program (SRP) can take you everywhere you’ve been wanting to go! Initially developed to help prevent “summer slide” in K-12 students between school years, the SRP has been expanded to promote a love of reading regardless of age or reading ability. The library advocates all reading is good reading, and it encourages readers to set their own reading and literacy goals over the summer.
This year’s SRP theme is Reading Takes You Everywhere. Join the Kick-off Party on Friday, June 1 at 5:00 p.m. at the library. Register for your reading passport and begin earning your incentives through a wide variety of reading, events, and programs.
The complete Summer Reading Program schedule and guidelines are available online at www.CoronaCA.gov/SAYL. The program will wrap up July 28 and all participants who complete the program will get a ticket to the Finishers’ Party.
This program is made possible by generous donations from the Friends of the Corona Public Library, Aquarium of the Pacific, Dog Haus, Legoland, and Baker’s Dozen Donuts. Local establishments are invited to help support their community’s reading goals by donating coupons. Donations will be accepted until Saturday, June 9. Generous donations of any amount will be advertised to over 5,000 library patrons who will be taking part in our reading and enrichment programs.
