The Story of Voyager — NASA’s Longest Journey into the Deep Space

Read Together Diamond Bar is sponsored by the Diamond Bar Friends of the Library each October.  At the culmination of Read Together Diamond Bar 2017, Read Together Chair Rachel Kirk announced that Mr. Adans Y. Ko will speak on Saturday, October 28, 3:00 p.m. in the Diamond Bar Library Windmill Room about Voyager.Diamond Bar Events on October 28, 2017Mr. Ko’s talk “The Story of Voyager—NASA’s Longest Journey into the Deep Space,” will be an exciting behind-the-scenes account of the Voyager’s primary mission of the exploration of Jupiter and Saturn and the continuing mission of the Voyager Interstellar Mission (VIM).

Mr. Ko is a Mission Operations System Engineer on Voyager and Europa projects at JPL. In the past, He has worked as the Mission Operation Assurance Manager for U.S. Rosetta and Voyager projects, the software architect for Advanced Multi-Mission Operation System (AMMOS), and the manager of AMMOS Mission Planning and Sequencing subsystem for over 10 years..

The twin Voyager 1 and 2 spacecraft are exploring where nothing from Earth has flown before. Continuing on their 40th year anniversary journey since their 1977 launches, they each are much farther away from Earth and the sun than Pluto.
