Attorney Pamela Edwards-Swift has had a strong presence in the local community for more than 20 years. In 1998 she moved her law practice to Chino Hills, focusing exclusively on Family Law. More than 10 years ago she became a Certified Family Law Specialist, which means that she was required to take an additional bar exam and prove her expertise to the California State Board of Legal Specialization by demonstrating her trial experience and receiving recommendations from judicial officers and her peers. As a Certified Family Law Specialist, she is required to focus her continuing legal education in advanced family law courses and apply for recertification every 5 years. Included in the recertification is the requirement to obtain recommendations from the family law legal community. Ms. Edwards-Swift has also been designated a Southern California Super Lawyer consistently for the past 9 years. She is proud to be on the faculty of DRE Institute, which is dedicated to transforming the collaboration of real estate and family law.
Throughout the years, in addition to extensive education in family law, Ms. Edwards-Swift has devoted hundreds of hours to Mediation and Collaborative training. She believes that this focused training has given her additional tools to negotiate the tumultuous world of divorce and custody battles.
Ms. Edwards-Swift has also been a contributor to the local community through her time and donations. Over the years she has been involved in the support of local charities such as Let it Be Foundation, Young Life, 100 Women Who Care and various school organizations. As her younger children were growing up, she also dedicated her time and energy to various committees at Hidden Trails Elementary School, Loving Savior School, Ayala High School and the Webb Schools. She was also the co-founder of a bible study group named Lydia’s Ladies that originally began through Inland Hills Church.
Always looking for how best to serve the legal community, Ms. Edwards-Swift has added a new concentration to her legal practice as a Mediation Consultant. Through this venue she advises individuals who are utilizing the services of a Mediator on the law applicable to their situation and how best to approach difficult subjects while going through the mediation process. She believes this provides an important service, as mediators, even if they are attorneys, are not allowed to give legal advice to the parties. Her philosophy is that although you do not have to follow the strict guidelines of statutory and case law when reaching an agreement with the other side, you should at least be educated on the law so that you can make an informed decision. Also, as a result of her training in mediation and collaboration, she is able to advise her clients in a manner that does not promote an unbending attitude, as she recognizes compromise is important in reaching an agreement.

Vito’s Italian Pizza was founded in Anaheim in 1955 by “Ma” Banu Quaranta’s late husband, Joseph “Mr. Vito” Quaranta, serving authentic Italian cuisine and traditional thin crust pizza from Bari, Italy. In 2008, they retired to Italy, but after a few years decided to return to the states, re-opening the restaurant in Corona in 2015 with the help of their nephew, Dan Walters. The quaint restaurant was known for its authentic, fresh Italian cuisine made in-house daily.
“Ma” Banu Quaranta states, “I have always had a passion for food and cooking and meeting new people. So, what better way to do both than to have a small restaurant? When you are here, you are family.” Vito’s is her “happy place,” and it brings her great joy to honor the legacy of her late husband. She considers carrying on the Vito’s legacy one of her greatest accomplishments.
Ma states that she had to overcome a major obstacle during the first year after opening Vito’s in Corona, when her husband became very ill. It was very difficult to simultaneously be at the new restaurant while also home caring for her husband.
Pope Saint John Paul II visited their Anaheim restaurant in 1987, which she considers one of their greatest honors. Vito’s was very involved in charities back in Anaheim and now also in Corona. They’re involved in community events and work with booster events and fundraisers through local schools.
Ma’s advice for women in business is to make sure their heart is in it 100 percent. She states, “When you love what you do, it’s not work – it’s a labor of love.”
Vito’s has now grown to include catering services. Whether it’s for a small group or hundreds of people, Vito’s provides an unparalleled Italian experience. When you’re at Vito’s, you are family.

Cathleen Wu Farzaneh is proud to be a part of TrueCare Cosmetic Surgery and Med Spa, where the practice is built on the belief that every patient deserves both personalized care and exceptional, natural-looking results. They therefore treat their patients like family, while working tirelessly to achieve the precise cosmetic outcomes desired. Due to the company’s unparalleled results and relentless dedication to excellence, individuals have traveled around the world in order to achieve their cosmetic goals in the state-of-the-art facilities.
Why did you choose your career? Although I’m a daughter of a general surgeon and a physician, I had no desire to follow in their footsteps. But life works in mysterious ways, and I ended up marrying a cosmetic surgeon – not just any cosmetic surgeon, but one who was already married to his career and, more importantly, his patients. Patient care became an integral part of our lives. My husband routinely made house calls for a majority of his patients. I would often drive him to these home visits, which became a regular routine prior to our dinner dates. I became more and more passionate about my work when I observed the impact my efforts made in these patients’ lives.
What education or special training have you received? My formal college training was focused in performing arts, and my early professional career was primarily in the high fashion industry. I then dove into the cosmetic field, and through many on-site and off-site courses and educational symposiums, I fostered a foundation that helped me navigate and direct the growth of our practice.

Star Struck Event & Party Planners La Villa Bella San Antonio
While serving in the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department for 16 years as a Major Crimes Detective, Susan Higgins also became involved in organizing fundraising events for the department. She had a passion for helping disadvantaged children through organizations such as Special Olympics, 999 Kids, YAL, Camp Courage, and an equestrian mentorship program which she created.
In 2005, she was forced to retire due to injuries sustained in the line of duty. Two years later in 2007, after returning to school, she launched Star Struck Event & Party Planners, a full-service event planning company. At this point in her life, Susan was a single mother trying to support herself and her young daughter. Despite discouragement from many people around her as well as the poor economy, she was persistent in her dream to become a success in her daughter’s eyes and able to support them both.
In 2009, she set her sights on purchasing her first venue, the historic San Antonio Hospital building constructed in 1906. It wasn’t a matter of “If,” it was a matter of “When” she would own it. Her arduous journey had begun.
She fought the city to acquire the CUP in 2010, then battled with the bank in 2011 after the previous owners’ foreclosure of the property forced her to move Star Struck out of the venue. Through her passion, vision, and projection plan, she convinced an investor to take a risk on her and her vision for La Villa Bella, an event venue and multi-business complex. She followed through with the plan, buying the investor out a year earlier than planned in 2016. She named the venue La Villa Bella San Antonio and says, “It’s magical here – a gem in the middle of the real world.”
Susan loves that the building was constructed by a famous architect, Myron Hunt, as well as all its history as the original San Antonio Hospital.
The venue opened its doors and is now entrusted by all types of clients, ranging from brides to CEOs of large corporations, and hosting both community and social events. Susan is determined to make every event special with her impeccable taste and attention to detail. Her taglines are, “Your timeless event, our historic venue” for La Villa Bella, and “Taking your events to celebrity status” for Star Struck.
Her awards include a nomination for Business Women of the Year 2018, Commitment to Community Award, Distinguished Service Award LASD, Meritorious Service Award LASD, and a letter of recommendation for Star Struck from Sheriff Baca.
Susan is supported by her family, daughter Madisen, husband Frank, and her Upland community full of friends. She enjoys giving back to those in need as well as making a difference in her community.
Susan could choose to rest on her past accomplishments, but her vision, drive, and grit propel her forward.

Janice Clark has been Imperial Smile Dentistry’s office manager and treatment coordinator for the past three years. Janice fell in love with dentistry 10 years ago because of the patients. She truly believes a smile can change a life and understanding why each patient walked through the door is key to treating their oral healthcare needs.
Janice and Dr. Joseph Lim first met at a continuing education seminar in Texas six years ago and shared a similar philosophy, which is to provide every patient with the tools to achieve their goals.
Imperial Smile guides each patient every step of the way in preventing periodontal (gum) disease, safely removing amalgam (metal) fillings, using BPA-free restorations, and discussing their treatment options, from a simple composite restoration to restoring a full mouth.
A recent patient was considering full mouth rehab. After lengthy discussion, Dr. Lim and one of the most highly trained labs in the country restored her mouth in three months with 28 beautiful teeth and no metal restorations. Janice was ecstatic at how the case turned out. The patient appeared 10 years younger and had acquired the self-confidence she was seeking.
Janice’s 8-year-old son, Luke, is on the Placentia Pony Baseball team and also plays flag football. Living in Yorba Linda, Janice stays active within the community. She adores watching Luke play sports and being team mom; attending country concerts, wine tasting, and family gatherings; walking her dogs; and attending Eastside Church.
Growing up, Dr. Karen Liang was always fascinated by smiles and wondered how orthodontics worked. When it came time to pick her profession, she chose to become a dentist and attend USC Dental School due to their prestigious reputation – and who doesn’t like the Trojans! She graduated in 2008 and has been in practice for 10 years. She loves dentistry so much she even married a dentist!
Her personal dental philosophy is to only diagnose and treat conditions she would address in her own mouth. From removing old cracked amalgam fillings safely to straightening teeth with Invisalign, Imperial Smile Dentistry strives to maintain full body health and proper oral function for all of their patients.
Karen enjoys improving her craft through continuing education courses. New dental techniques, procedures, tools, and approaches are needed to stay relevant in their practice. Karen takes courses together with Dr. Lim and their staff so they stay on the same page. She believes this is what makes them such a great team and able to provide excellent clinical care to their patients.
Karen loves to travel with her husband. Their most recent trip was an amazing experience skiing in Utah and visiting Zion National Park. She’s passionate about staying in shape, hiking, and reading. Karen is expecting identical twin boys in the early fall, but her clients shouldn’t worry, as she’ll then be back in practice at Imperial Smile Dentistry!
