Summer is the season to enjoy the outdoors, sport summer dresses, and delight in delicious fruits. However, hot winds and the heat and warmth of the sun can cause damage to skin. Harsh weather can make skin rough and dull, causing pores to become clogged with sweat, dust, and dirt. We all wish we had glowing skin all year round, but special attention should be given to your skin during the summer months to keep it healthy and radiant.
With summer here, we’ll be enjoying all sorts of fun activities, but if your skin becomes dull during the process, here are some tips to help give it that summer glow:
Hydrate. Many of us live in a constant state of dehydration. Even a small degree of dehydration can significantly impact our cellular function and our body’s natural detoxification. This can take its toll on our skin very quickly, making it appear dull or dry, lacking elasticity and plumpness. We need to drink a minimum of eight glasses of water a day – and more if we’re exercising. Carry a bottle of water with you and you’ll be amazed at how much you’ll increase your consumption.
Avoid junk food. Junk food not only creates a deficiency of nutrients, but it also leads to increased toxins in the body, not to mention it’s terrible for the skin. Instead, choose food rich in vitamins and minerals, which is a great way to detoxify the body.
Apply toner. Mix a pinch of camphor with a few drops of vitamin E oil and rose water. Properties of these three ingredients will leave your skin feeling soft and nourished.
Exfoliate. Don’t allow your skin to suffocate from dead skin cells and bacteria. If you aren’t already using a beauty device, it’s time to update your skin care regimen. You should use an exfoliating device two to three times per week to get rid of excess buildup and clear your pores. Exfoliating not only gives your skin a deep clean, it also makes it dewy and radiant.
Moisturize. Replenish and lock in moisture with products specific to your skin type. If you have dry skin, use a hydrating mask at least once a week and apply a moisturizing face cream in the morning and at night. If you have combination/oily skin, opt for a lighter, oil-free moisturizer, and try using an exfoliating mask.
