Summer has arrived and it’s time to store away those long sleeves for some fresh, fun and funky looks to stay “cool” in this warm weather! Fashion is a personal platform used to be creative in expressing yourself, and summer is the perfect time to get out of your comfort zone and try new things. Find new hobbies and activities as well as exploring a different side of yourself by adding new items to your wardrobe.
When it comes to summer fashion, this year is all about color and experimentation. But remaining on trend does not mean breaking the bank – or losing sight of your own aesthetic. Take some of your current traditional everyday wear and accentuate them by adding new elements or simply changing it up with accessories. Here are some ideas to help enhance your summer appearance.
Remember functionality is vital this summer, so start by snagging yourself some hiking sandals and get outside for some fresh air. Having sandals that can function with your outdoor activity in the morning, and then transition into your afternoon lunch is what this summer is all about.
For a day by the pool, use a wide brim straw hat accompanied by tinted sunglasses and a tie-dye cover up and you’ll be right on trend. Don’t worry about messing up your hair on those hot and humid summer days, just tie a silk scarf around your usual ponytail to give it a fashionable look.
If summertime means you’ll be working more and sun tanning less, businessmen and women alike should grab a neutral colored suit for the office. The neutral color is light and effortless, but still shows you mean business in a sophisticated way. After that long day at the office jump into something unstructured and free with a maxi or mini floral dress for women or a boxy bowling shirt for men. Men can also add bold colored polos and tapered pleated trousers to their summer apparel.
The key for any outfit this year is about going bold and keeping it simple. Don’t be afraid to take risks, mix and match. Don’t take yourself too seriously. Let the clothing speak for itself and just throw it on and go. Summertime is a season to be casual! Remember – you can never go wrong with fashion.
