The City of Diamond Bar would like to thank the community for their support of the city’s annual Eco Expo. The event took place at the Air Quality Management District on America Recycles Day, November 14th. The Eco Expo provided the community with the opportunity to drop off unwanted electronic devices, clothing, and much more!
The City of Diamond Bar really takes pride in the place they call “home”. The City takes extra measures to take care of its environment and provide essential resources to residents. After researching various E-Waste companies, the City of Diamond Bar decided to partner with All Green Electronics Recycling. “We chose to partner with All Green because they made us feel that our event was in good hands during all communication and they have all of the required certifications within the E-Waste recycling industry,” said Alfa Lopez, City of Diamond Bar Management Analyst. “They help us provide a free, responsible and safe option for recycling E-Waste.” Because All Green is an e-Stewards and R2 certified E-Waste recycler, the community could rest assured no material collected would be sent overseas to developing nations or dumped into landfills.
“There were multiple educational booths, fun activities and outlets to responsibly recycle,” All Green’s personnel Chelsea Wilder stated. The community-oriented City of Diamond Bar even gave away a free insulated cooler bag to each resident! The insulated cooler bag serves as a thank you for stopping by to show how greatly the City of Diamond Bar appreciates residents’ contribution in making the community and environment a better and greener place to live in. Out of all the services provided, such as clothing and textile recycling, garden mulch giveaway, and green information booths at the Eco Expo, electronic waste recycling was “the busiest service of that day!” stated Ms. Lopez.
City of Diamond Bar residents filled a 26 foot truck with over 5 tons of E-Waste. Due to the Eco Expo’s massive success, Alfa excitedly mentioned that the city’s next event will take place on Saturday, April 23rd in Celebration of Earth Day at the same location and time. “We’re really excited to see Earth Day’s turn out!” exclaimed Lopez. While electronic devices such as computers, laptops and cell phones are always accepted, Diamond Bar’s E-Waste Recycling Event Page provides a full list of all accepted and prohibited items for this particular event. It is important to check if your device qualifies for free recycling before going to the next event.
